Cabling
Cabling projects are typically very high priority projects, because Ethernet cables are the main arteries and veins in your organization. The cables carry the electrons that are your data. Cables are part of the base layer that your IT systems run on and are therefore a crucial component of your system's architecture.
The following are a few examples of Cabling projects:
Cable Plant Performance Evaluation - Test all or a subset of cables suspected of causing problems. Determine if the cables are damaged, too long, or have some other issue.
- VoIP - With the increase of VoIP telephone systems, the need for your cables to operate efficiently is even more critical. Typical computer data is resilient and if the data has to be resent it doesn't affect the results. VoIP is a different story, if the data is late or has to be resent, you end up with bad call quality or even call drops.
Cable Plant Implementation - Design, implement and test new cable installations. Ensure that your new cables are installed according to best practice standards that keep your data secure and flowing. Are your cables running along or over water pipes, electric lines, lights, generators? If they are, this could affect their ability to transfer data.
